Reduce
If you walk into our offices in the winter, it will be a few degrees colder than you might expect. And in the summer, you may want to wear a t-shirt. By simply adjusting the thermostat we reduce the amount of energy it takes to heat and cool our building and reduce our carbon footprint and impact on the earth.
In Crio's first headquarters, we chose a building with a state-of-the-art geothermal system that helped heat and cool our building. This investment helped us save energy (and money) each month.
Crio now uses sustainable wind energy to make Crio Brü and fuel sustainable growth. Over a year's time, Crio will offset 7.19 tons of carbon dioxide emmissions, providing an annual environmental benefit equivalent to not driving a car 14,621 miles.
If you walk into one of our meetings, you might wonder why only one person is sitting there. Though meeting face-to-face is sometimes necessary, many of our meetings are conducted via conference call or video conference technology. This reduces our dependence on fossil fuels.
Crio invites you to look for ways to reduce your dependence on fossil fuels by adjusting your thermostat, using sustainable energy sources and connecting with friends and family through technology whenever possible.
Reuse
This is one of our favorite ways to go green! Try these five ways to reuse your used Crio Brü grounds:
- Add to a smoothie or protein shake.
- Use as a secret ingredient when baking brownies, cookies and other desserts .
- Brew more Crio Brü. Unlike coffee, used Crio Brü grounds can be used once again with slightly less water.
- Exfoliate and moisturize your hands. Crio Brü will make your hands soft and smooth. Add sea salt and olive oil to make a full body scrub.
- Add as compost to your plants (as long as they are not pet accessible).

Recycle
Crio Canada Inc. is committed to making products that are better for you and the environment. We use recycled products whenever possible and recycle everything that is recyclable.
Crio invites you to purchase products made with recycled products or that use recycled packaging and to recycle what you use.
Responsible
Another way Crio looks out for the environment is ensuring our cacao is 100% responsibly grown and ethically traded. We buy organic beans whenever possible. And we always pay fair trade prices or more for all our cacao beans which improves the lives of our farmers and their communities. This ensures our farmers are as committed to sustainable agriculture as we are.
